What batch traceability means
Why batch and lot numbers matter, and how traceability links a physical vial to its documentation.
Batches and lots
A batch (or lot) is a quantity of material produced in a single run. Assigning it a unique number means every vial from that run can be linked back to the same production and testing records.
Why it matters
Traceability lets a laboratory match a vial to its analytical report, compare results across batches, and identify affected stock quickly if a question arises about a particular batch.
